Children’s Outreach Report

Report on Children’s Hall news for Charis, from Andrew Wakabi;

Greetings every one and the people of God everywhere in the world. Home Again ministry is privileged to be partners with Charis Global Community Aid for the past two years. Indeed this was a godly and timely partnership to the people of Masese Jinja and God’s work here in Uganda. We really appreciate the kindness, practical love, support (both financial and spiritual), and above all the friendship. This fellowship has yielded a lot of positive fruits among which are explained below.

Charis Global Community Aid has funded the construction of the children’s hall which is helping us to accommodate over 1500 children who come at the ministry center every week (Saturdays). This was a great boost in the ministry because it quickened the session for devotion for the children as they gather together in this hall to praise and worship God, learn vocational skills, develop their talents of music and dance, and relaxation during the lunch/feeding time. Since our desire is to raise a generation of children who fear, serve, and know God, this hall is also used on Sunday by these children and their parents for worship services. As a result, the children get opportunities 3 times in a year to minister to the adults during the worship services to show case their spiritual development and growth in the Lord. The Spiritual atmosphere of Masese has begun to change gradually and positively and the moral behavior of the children is also changing.

Secondly, Charis has been sending financial aid to help purchase food for the children here in a program we call Super Saturday Children’s program. This is a feeding program for the children of Masese community and the surrounding. This program feeds over 1000 every Saturday during their discipleship programs. Therefore by having readily available food, it enables the ministry to get constant connection to the children to come in plenty for the programs. It also gives hope to the needy families an assurance of a good meal every Saturday for their children which in return boosts their nutritional growth. We have further discussed that this feeding program does not feed the children only but also their parents at home because they take part of the food back at their home.

Another great project that Charis has been a blessing at Home Again Ministry is the funds to construct a six stance pit latrine to serve the community of Masese especially the super Saturday children's program and Bethel Junior School. It is a concrete pit which can be emptied once it gets full. This is a population of over 1800 benefiting from this project. It was an answer to the one of the needs of the ministry here and it helped us meet the health standards and needs of the people we are serving.

Our main future projects include:

1) Building permanent structures for the school (Bethel Junior School)

2) Purchasing 30 acres of land to grow local food for the feeding program of both the Super Saturday Children's feeding program and Bethel Junior

3) Purchasing 4 water tanks to be used for the water harvest of the rain water from the children's hall.

4) Connecting children to sponsors to enable many of the needy children come to school.

May God’s will continue well.

Thanks so much for the gracious provision and may God bless you all.
